Organizational culture within The Globe

 When analyzing Edgar Schein’s model of organization culture and cultural change, he discusses that a difference arises between the desired and the prevailing culture, cultural interventions should take place. At the globe theatre, the tour guide mentioned that Shakespeare did not allow women to act in his plays. Once he passed away, women were slowly given roles in his plays, which has led to today where many women are playing very prominent roles in his plays. A difference I noticed is in the United States I never noticed outside Stadium theaters to be prominent such as the type of theater The Globe is meant to be. The Globe is more of a professional outdoor stadium compared to the ones offered in the United States.

My thoughts on the organization at The Globe

   I enjoyed the tour of the Globe Theater. I was fascinated by the preservation of the building for this long considering that it is wooden and made to belong outdoors. I enjoyed the tour guide and how he portrayed The Globe. His demeanor made it fun for me to learn about The Globe’s history. I did not converse with the actors even though they were close to me, but I conversed with tour guide frequently who was a local.
